Where is cowtown az
Their objective doesn't seem to be for the customer's enjoyment. They seem to be there for their own satisfaction and don't really care about the customer. The staff is also somewhat non-verbal and sullen, however they will take your money. So don't expect a big welcome.
It would not seem to be a good idea to take families with young children or teens, or youth groups from church or scouts to this venue. We will not return. Excellent facility, perfect for training. This isn't the typical "public" range where you don't know anything about the person who is shooting right next to you. Booking your own range is awesome, you control the pace and training, and it is just you and your group. It's beautiful out there and in the evenings you can often hear and see the wild Burro's walking to their bedding sites, It's a great place to bring a lunch and train your butt off.
Their night time steel match runs pretty late and is no where near as rushed as the other ranges. Both John and Glenn are really nice guys and answer any questions with out that bossy "Range Officer" attitude. This is absolutely the best place to take your family or friends for a day of training from pistol to long range rifle. You aren't interrupted, you stop and start on your own schedule.
It's only a few miles past Ben Avery but if you don't want crowds and want to train for real world shooting, it's well worth the couple extra minutes in the car. In my opinion Cowtown is the premier shooting facility in the state of Arizona. No matter what your interests are in the world of shooting, Cowtown's pistol bays, long range platforms, zeroing range and training are top notch.
Very good environment. Shawn S Scottsdale, AZ 1 contribution. A great place for responsible shooters to have a fun, great day. We all had a great time at Cow Town.
Was traveling through with my sister. We had been wanting to do some horseback trail riding out west and Cowtown Range turned out to be a great experience for us. The scenery was breathtaking and enjoyable as our guide gave us fun facts about the different cacti and wildlife in the area.
Our guide was friendly and had a good sense of humor, which made for an enjoyable time. We have an uncle who lives in Scottsdale and would come again sometime when passing through. Kat H South Dakota 19 contributions. The horses were great, kid friendly. My experience was excellent, it was like being in a suite with the ocean view and no limitations. Best ranger! I have ever been too. First class! Would recommend anybody. Love the long range shooting bays!!! We were fortunate to have Range Manager, Glen Stilson, as our instructor for the experiences.
Glen also is the Head Instructor at Independence Training and provides patient and clear instruction on safety, use of the sniper rifle, target acquisition and the general physics behind the use of the equipment for maximum opportunity to hit the targets. You have 20 shots to shoot at targets that are located at , , , , , , and 1, yards in a canyon. Glen's instructions were so good that my son hit each of the targets on his first shots, except for the 1, yard target, which took three.
This was a fun and informative 3-hour experience that we would definitely do again. Showing results of No questions have been asked about this experience. Ask a question. Also popular with travelers. Peoria Sports Complex. Modern Round. Rio Vista Recreation Center.
Sky Zone Trampoline Park. Harkins Theatres. Baffled Escape Rooms. Having served as a sniper in U. S Army Special Operations units for over 22 years, I have had the privilege of shooting at numerous ranges around the country, both military and civilian. Cowtown is extremely unique as a private range where the type of live fire shooting scenarios are limited only by your imagination.
The ever-changing long-distance ranges are constantly a challenge for ranging and calling winds. The pistol and carbine bays can accommodate everything from multi-gun competitions to active Law Enforcement live-fire exercises. As a Grandmaster competitive shooter and member of the USA Shooting team, it is important to be able to spend quality time training. Cowtown Range has been my second home for four years.
Truth is I have been coming to Cowtown for 15 years, as part of its former movie town. The staff, range surface and beautiful backdrop make this a wonderful place to practice. The member only limit means I can train without distraction, and can schedule sessions to work into my match schedule. I have also attended a few of the classes, as well as their weekly matches, which are often attended by top shooters.
Thanks to the owners and staff at Cowtown for allowing me to share your wonderful facility. I have been a Cowtown member for the past two years and it has been a very positive experience. The reservation process for the bays is easy and reliable and I usually get range time when I ask for it.
Overall I would say the membership is definitely worth the money. I finally found shooting Nirvana! So many options, clean facilities and room to do my thing.
